10 Things Tuesday - Blue

Well. last week was Orange for October. This week I decided to have a sort through my photos and found that I have lots of other colours as well- surprise, surprise!
So no reason, except total randomness, I choose 'Blue'.

Then I found a whole host of idioms, sayings and quotes that contain the word blue. Some I use regularly and some I'd never heard of. Which ones do you use?

a blue-eyed boy

a bolt from the blue

between the devil and the deep blue sea

black and blue
blue blood

blue collar
blue in the face

bolt from the blue
feel blue

into the wide blue yonder

(Incidently I was playing around with this phrase when I was thinking about the title of my blog- until I decided on Graham's Landing instead!)
like a bolt from the blue

like blue blazes
once in a blue moon

out of a clear blue sky

 out of the blue

scream blue murder
talk until one is blue in the face

the boys in blue

true-blue

And to finish with ...

If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.

So there you are- 10 Blue Things for a Tuesday :)
