A new month and a review of the last one- These shots were taken and chosen for my Show and Tell this month, as hosted by Sophie. These were taken at the Annual Kota Belud Market and Festival. This is a gathering of all the local tribes 'cowboys', where they get chance to race, perform and show their skills.
It was a real family event and everyone was encouraged to have a go:)
First the Cowboys just chill and get ready for the big parade
All dressed in their traditional garb
Then the formal parade takes place
And is officially opened by the Datuk, watched by the paparazzi of course!
Another parade of horsemanship
Then onto a madcap game that was a cross between polo and basketball!
It was fast and furious, even trying to get the rattan ball into the net.
Then once the game was over...
There were more parades
But everyone seemed to enjoy themselves:)
So there you are a- snapshot show and tell for October.
See you next time, Amanda :)
I love all these traditional outfits in the bright colours, so much nicer than the black and blue and grey that we all seem to wear in England. xx
ReplyDeleteOh so very true- It goes along with the weather I think, everything seems that it must be bright:)
DeleteSo different from the local cowboys where I live! These are really interesting photos and I appreciate having the chance to see the event. :)
ReplyDeleteA very different kind of cowboy indeed:)
DeleteThat looks an amazing and colourful festival.

It was a very Local festival- which means a lot of sitting around and waiting for anything to happen- Sabah time applies to anything- but once it got going it was pretty impressive:)
