2 Wks of 52 Weeks!

After a busy couple of weeks, I've finally got around to posting some of the things that have made me happy. So joining in with Jen at Little birdie to share some happy moments and things that made me smile

October 27th- November 3rd

A trip up the mountain- well, not actually up the mountain- but to the National park at the base of Mount Kinabalu- Despite torrential rain for most of the day, I had a very pleasant time, getting out and about and having a bit of a wander.

These two pictures show my class really making me smile this week. We had been reading Roald Dahl's The BFG  and this was our own version of dream hunting. I was amazed how easily the kids suspended belief and went out to catch dreams in the playground. It was lovely to see such innocence, belief and sense of magic that they all had.
 Our Dream Jars:)

Whether it had been baking, cooking or crafting, I have thoroughly enjoyed making things this week. I'm sure you'll get to see a few of the things I got round to making, sometime soon:)

Local crafts
On our way back down the mountain there are a few little stalls selling local crafts. This was one of the reasons we came out for the day in the first place as my friend Christine wanted to buy a Rattan Mat for her daughter Julie. As it was we both ended up getting one!
And it now takes pride of place at the foot of the bed in the same bedroom:)

November 4th- 10th
A public holiday! On Tuesday we had an extra day off- so it was spent having a leisurely time by the pool, reading UK magazines, my book, and listening to music. Luckily too, the sun was shining:)
A very enjoyable night hosting Book club- I'm sure you'll pick up on the clues from the photo which book we were reading- but needless to say we had a very nice evening- and as you all know I love being the hostess with the mostess!
A busy weekend too! Flying off to Singapore to take part in the Great Eastern Women's Run. Not having ran since May, due to injury, I was pretty pleased that I managed to run at all- I only did the 5k run, as I'm slowly working my way back to getting fit- but I thoroughly enjoyed it- and I did it a bit quicker than last year too:)My friends D and M, did exceptionally well as they ran the half marathon and the 10k- Only in my dreams would I ever imagine doing that!
A great end to a lovely weekend drinks at Raffles, Singapore! No Singapore slings for us though - it was a very British affair of Ginger ale to quench the thirst and pots of tea!

So that's the update, I'll elaborate more soon, but until then- have a lovely week:)

    1. It was fun getting into making the dream jars- Particularly as I told them they wouldn't work until I sprinkled in some special dream glitter- and they believed me- aw bless them:)
