Six Word Stories and Sunday Snippets

What a Day!
Joining in with Miriam to tell a story in six words.

If I had one word to describe how this week has been then I would go with 'Unsettled'. Not in too bad a way, just in a rather strange and 'out of sorts' way. I'm sure we all get a bit like this sometimes.

Perhaps it's like the weather, never knowing what each day will bring, whether it's going to be cold or mild, wet or dry.
It feels like I'm chomping at the bit, waiting for something to happen. Waiting for spring? The good weather? To feel fitter? To get my independence back? I really don't know what it is, but it's all just a little unsettling.

I have made progress this week though and am feeling like I can do more and more each day. It's still all very surprising though how much surgery takes it out of you.

I've had some lovely days out and on Wednesday I even went to watch 'Collabro' in concert. Yes, I was shattered and sore by the end of the evening but it was great to be out and about.

I've tried to walk a little more and get some fresh air this week too. It's lovely to see all the little subtle changes to the fields and hedgerows as each day moves onto the next.

I've been taken to the garden centre a few times. Mostly just to visit the coffee shop, but I am inspired to grow some veg this year and try my hand at some container planting.

More coffee shop visits! This was a new one to me but it will certainly become a favourite once I can get behind the wheel again.

A girly afternoon in the Lakes involved some beautiful scenery, some quirky stopping off places and a fabulous afternoon tea.
 This sign made me smile!

So really it's not been too bad a week. Who knows what next week will bring. Hope you had a good one. :)

    1. It was such a fabulously clear day. This is Eskthwaite Water on the west side of Windermere. It was as calm as a millpond. x

  2. Recovering from any trauma is such a variable process. and I can really feel the see-saw nature of yours from your vivid description. Getting out and about, seeing friends and enjoying tea-shops and cafés sounds very restorative. That last one looks delightful. Wishing you speedy healing and a good week ahead.

    1. Thank you. I'm now beginning to enjoy some of my enforced time off so at least it doesnt feel such an uphill struggle :)

  3. It certainly was a beautiful day in the lakes. Hopefully the unsettled feelings will disappear slowly but surely as you begin to feel yourself again. I always feel unsettled at the change of seasons. The cafe you visited looks lovely:)

    1. Yes, perhaps that's it, changing of the seasons... nicer to think that, rather than blaming it all on hormones:)

    1. Definitely another visit needed to the cafe. The sign and farm trail are at Sizergh Barn farm shop, cafe and craft shop near Kendal. I hadnt been for a long time and and so it was nice to revisit.

  5. Thank you! for such a lovely picture trail through your beautiful part of the world and for linking to Short Stories.
Recovering from surgery takes far far longer than anyone tells you. Look back to last week and what you needed help with and now look at you today. Thats how I'm getting back to some sort of normal :)

  6. It is good that you have been out and had a change of scene. Take care of yourself and take as long as you need to get back to full health. xx
