Breakfast over Budapest

Well hello and good morning. Again I have apologies to make for the lack of posts but here I am again. My morning started 40,000 ft up in the air eating breakfast above Budapest and watching a beautiful sunrise on the horizon. I was on my final long haul flight from South East Asia to the UK...finally coming home.
Everyone who knows me, knows that it was a hard decision to chose to leave my life in Borneo and come home, but as I watched the sunrise this morning, pale orange light glinting off the wing tip and filtered by the clouds, it felt right. I have had a fabulous time over the last three years and yet this morning's sun came up asit does everyday and It made me think a little. A new dawn, a new day and a new phase in my life.
I may not have a job to go to, or a space of my own.. Indeed I have no idea of what my next phase will turn out to be at all...but in a way it's quite a liberating thought.

The last few weeks have been an epic roller coaster of emotions about leaving and also having great experiences and holidays whilst I could. The last week for example saw me parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling in pristine seas, wildlife spotting in the jungle and having great nights out with friends.  A brilliant way to finish a brilliant time abroad.

So even though I may spend some time hankering after the past, today I'm also looking forward.
Bring it on!

A Wednesday Encounter with Wildlife!

Hi there. I know I have so many things to catch up on about my holidays! but just thought I'd share some pictures of our fab day at Australia Zoo. Set up by the late Steve Irwin and family, it was a great tribute to him and his passion for conservation. Whether zoos are your thing or not, it really is one of the better ones. Lizzie and I had a great time getting up close to some critters!
Lounging roos!
Laughing kookaburras.
Prowling Red Pandas
Scampering echidnas.
Terrific Tigers.
Tigers having a bit of a play.
Snapping crocodiles.
Rather him than me!
Wrinkly Rhinos.
Graceful giraffes.
Wandering wombats.
And the cutest koalas ever!
Who were eating...
And wandering...
And sleeping...
And one who even had a little Joey with her!
A great day was had by all.

Bye for now,

A Long Walk in Oz...Six Words Friday

Long
A long walk on the beach
Blowing away all the cobwebs
Watching the waves and rolling surf
And loving every minute of it!

Thanks to Adrienne for letting me join up with this weekly meme. http://mymemoryart.blogspot.com.au

Six Word Friday and Time for Tea.

The theme for Six Words Friday this week was 'One' and so linking together my two prompts I thought I'd go with my favourite pastime ..drinking tea and coffee. So my 'One' is 'One of many!' ..cups of tea that is.
One of many...cups of tea
Just enough to keep me going,
Shall I have a cake too?
A couple of days late for your invite..but I'm glad you could join me. I'm on my travels again! First stop was Singapore and now we are in Sydney and the Blue Mountains..oh, the wanderlust life I lead! Spending a month of travelling before heading back home to blighty...but this time I'm joined by my 18 yr old niece Lizzie.
Luckily for me, she likes a cup of tea with the best of us..so our days seem to revolve around sightseeing and visiting coffee shops. So far we've seen a few..how would you like to join us as we give you a little sample of what we've come across already.

We've had some delectable cakes and pastries at TWG in Singapore. A very decadent affair for a late lunch...well, why not?
Would you prefer a little pot of tea and morning muffins? Perhaps with a side order of an oat cookie. this lovely little coffee place and cafe was whilst we were out and about the streets of Surrey Hills, Sydney.
Cute, isn't it?

Or what about this place? The Atlas Kiosk in Bondi.. The pastizzi were gorgeous...little puff pastry mouthfuls of spinich and cheese goodness.
These pancakes were pure indulgence ..but we did share..and we are on holiday..that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)
Would you care to join us?
We also had some evening snacks of tea and scones..I'm not sure why the Aussies want to toast everything...toasted scones? But anyway they still tasted good. A perfect way to end a great day.

So what would you like? Morning coffee, afternoon tea? Evening supper?..or just like us and have it all...one of many!
